The week of July 27–31, 2026 was marked by important decisions from major companies. Vale (VALE3) approved the payment of interest on equity (JCP, a form of shareholder remuneration that reduces the company’s tax bill) and dividends totaling R$ 2.03 per share, and also authorized the buyback of up to 100 million shares. The miner also reported profit of US$ 1.4 billion in 2Q26, the start of commissioning of the Serra Sul +20 project, a global economic contribution of US$ 37.5 billion in 2025, changes to the board of directors and the resignation of a vice-chair of the board.

In oil, Petrobras (PETR4) reported record production of 3.34 million barrels of oil equivalent per day in 2Q26. In the banking sector, Itaú Unibanco (ITUB4) completed the sale of its retail operation in Colombia, Santander Brasil (SANB11) reported profit of R$ 3 billion in 2Q26 and Banco Santander announced an exchange tender offer (OPA) involving shares of the Brazilian bank. Bradesco (BBDC4) approved a capital increase of up to R$ 10 billion, while Itaúsa (ITSA4) announced a capital injection of up to R$ 2.1 billion in Aegea and Banco BMG (BMGB4) authorized the transfer of up to R$ 1.5 billion to a FIDC (receivables investment fund) and had its rating reaffirmed by Fitch.

The earnings flow brought numbers from large consumer, infrastructure and telecom companies. Ambev (ABEV3) posted profit of R$ 3.5 billion in 2Q26 and a 9.6% increase in adjusted EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) in 1H26, in addition to approving JCP of R$ 0.0713 per share and paying R$ 0.1185 per share. Among other releases, Intelbras (INTB3) reported profit of R$ 158.3 million in 2Q26 and approved dividends of R$ 0.29 per share; Usiminas (USIM5) reported profit of R$ 428 million in 2Q26 and projected CAPEX (investments) between R$ 1.2 billion and R$ 1.4 billion in 2026; Multiplan (MULT3) posted profit of R$ 427.4 million in 2Q26; Profarma (PFRM3) reported revenue of R$ 4.1 billion in 2Q26; Motiva (MOTV3) posted profit of R$ 1.4 billion; EcoRodovias (ECOR3) earned profit of R$ 52.9 million in 2Q26; Rede d1000 (DMVF3) posted profit of R$ 9.8 million; Simpar (SIMH3) reported service revenue of R$ 9.4 billion; JSL (JSLG3) recorded gross revenue of R$ 2.9 billion; Irani (RANI3) earned profit of R$ 30.9 million in 2Q26; and in the telecom sector, Telefônica Brasil (VIVT3) reported profit of R$ 2.8 billion in 1H26 and R$ 1.6 billion in 2Q26, while TIM (TIMS3) posted profit of R$ 1.0 billion in 2Q26, approved a capital injection of up to R$ 670 million in subsidiaries and showed a 7.8% increase in EBITDA-AL (EBITDA after leases) in 1H26.

There was also a series of corporate, financial and regulatory moves. Light (LIGT3) approved a capital increase of R$ 1.7 billion, with Santander Private Banking 1 cutting its stake to 7%, and Sabesp (SBSP3) advanced its corporate restructuring with approval of the merger of EMAE shares, the calling of a new EGM and the postponement of a meeting endorsed by the CVM. Among others, highlights include the exchange tender offer proposed by Dramd and Fras-le (FRAS3) involving shares of Randon (RAPT3) and Randoncorp, the approval of a buyback of up to 100 million shares by CSN Mineração (CMIN3), Raízen’s (RAIZ4) out-of-court restructuring plan, the approval of JCP of R$ 0.75186692 per share at Movida (MOVI3), the acquisition of Dock Brasil for R$ 119 million and Cade’s approval for a combination with CBO by OceanPact (OPCT3), the raising of R$ 750 million in debentures and early settlement of R$ 158.6 million in debt by Irani (RANI3), the raising of R$ 500 million in debentures by Axia Energia (AXIA3), the approval of convertible debentures of up to R$ 110 million and subsequent cancellation of the issue by Paranapanema (PMAM3), as well as EBITDA guidance of R$ 5.4 billion and an exchange offer for bonds maturing in 2028 by CSN (CSNA3).
