On Tuesday, July 28, 2026, Petrobras (PETR4) reported that its total own production of oil, NGL (Natural Gas Liquids) and natural gas reached a record 3.34 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (boed) in 2Q26, up 14.1% compared to 2Q25 and 3.4% versus 1Q26. According to the company, the performance was driven by higher operating efficiency, the ramp-up of the FPSOs Maria Quitéria, Alexandre de Gusmão and P-78 in the Búzios field, and the start of production of FPSO P-79, also in Búzios, partially offset by the natural decline of mature fields.

In the pre-salt, own production totaled 2.78 million boed in 2Q26, a new record compared to 2.66 million boed in 1Q26. Oil production from this layer alone was 2.299 million barrels per day (mbpd), 5.0% above the immediately preceding quarter, with the start-up of five new producing wells in the Santos Basin. Petrobras’s total operated production reached 4.87 million boed in the period, also a record, while oil production in the Campos Basin reached 559 thousand barrels per day, the second highest since 4Q23.

In the refining, transportation and marketing segment, the total utilization rate (URF) of the refineries reached a quarterly record of 101.2% in 2Q26, surpassing the previous record of 101.1% set in 2014. Total distillation throughput was 1,835 mbpd, 6.1% above 1Q26, with 93% domestic oil and 73% pre-salt oil in the processed feedstock. Total production of oil products came to 1,918 mbpd, up 5.6% versus 1Q26 and 10.9% versus 2Q25, with quarterly records of 509 mbpd of S10 diesel and 109 mbpd of aviation kerosene (jet fuel), in addition to 424 mbpd of gasoline.

Sales of oil products in the domestic market were 1,742 mbpd in 2Q26, practically stable compared to 1Q26, with a 0.4% increase in diesel sales to 742 mbpd and an 8.3% rise in LPG, which reached 223 mbpd. Gasoline sales, in turn, fell 2.2% to 404 mbpd, influenced by the greater competitiveness of hydrous ethanol, while jet fuel declined 11.9% to 111 mbpd, after stronger demand in the previous quarter. In consolidated sales, considering domestic and foreign markets, total volume reached 3,331 mbpd, an increase of 3.5% over 2Q25.

The increase in oil production helped Petrobras’s net exports reach 1.075 million barrels per day in 2Q26, growth of 26.2% compared to 1Q26, resulting from exports of 1.231 million barrels per day and imports of 156 thousand barrels per day, the lowest volume of imported oil since the pandemic, at 89 mbpd. In the gas and power segment, sales of natural gas and for internal consumption were 45 million m³ per day, down 2.2% versus 1Q26, due to lower supply of domestic gas, partially offset by higher use of regasified LNG.
