On Tuesday, October 27, 2026, Braskem (BRKM3) responded to a request from B3 for clarification regarding a press article about its financial restructuring, in the context of the out-of-court reorganization petition filed on August 24, 2026. The company recalled that it hired financial and legal advisors on September 26, 2025 to evaluate economic and financial alternatives and that, since June 25, 2026, it has been exchanging information and indicative, non-binding proposals with investors holding Senior Notes and debentures (debt securities issued by the company) within the scope of a possible reorganization of its capital structure.
Braskem reported that the filed out-of-court reorganization plan had the adherence of unsecured creditors representing 39.6% of the subject claims and that this plan sets out general parameters for negotiating an updated plan to be submitted within up to 90 days after the filing of the petition. The document also provides for milestones and early termination rights in favor of the signatory creditors, including a framework agreement on the commercial terms and conditions of the updated plan among the debtors, main shareholders and signatory creditors.
According to the company, the deadline to reach this framework agreement has been extended and the latest extension pushed the limit to October 30, 2026. Despite several in-person meetings among Braskem, its main shareholders and investors, there is still no agreement on the final terms and conditions of the restructuring. The company stated that it intends to continue discussions with investors and other financial creditors in order to meet the deadline agreed with the required majority of signatory creditors.
Braskem stressed that the terms, conditions and deadlines of the proposals under discussion and of other parameters to be included in the updated plan are not binding and remain subject to negotiation among the company, its main shareholders and the signatory creditors, as well as to approval by the relevant governance bodies. The company reaffirmed its commitment to pursuing a consensual, structural and orderly solution for its capital structure, so as to ensure the continuity of its operations in the normal course of business.
