On Thursday, September 10, 2026, IRB Brasil Resseguros (IRBR3) reported that it had received, on the previous day, authorization from the Brazilian Private Insurance Authority (SUSEP) to start operations of IRB(Seg) Corporate Seguradora S.A. and IRB(Seg) Vida e Previdência Seguradora S.A., referred to as the New Insurers.
According to the company, the authorization granted by SUSEP concludes the regulatory process required for the New Insurers to become operational and represents another step in IRB(Re)’s strategy to diversify and expand its business platform.
As previously disclosed, the New Insurers were structured to operate in the property and casualty (P&C) and life insurance segments, expanding IRB(Re)’s presence in the value chain of the Brazilian insurance sector, while maintaining its focus on its original business of providing reinsurance to cedents in Brazilian territory.
