Companhia Energética de Minas Gerais – Cemig (CMIG3; CMIG4) reported on Friday, September 11, 2026, that the Board of Directors elected Marco Aurélio Martins da Costa Vasconcelos as the company’s CEO and Alexandre Ramos Peixoto as chair of the Board of Directors.

Marco Aurélio Martins da Costa Vasconcelos is an attorney, who graduated from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais (PUC Minas), with specializations in Corporate Law and Business Management. He has worked in legal, management and public administration roles, with experience in organizations in the sanitation, mining and industrial sectors, and has also held strategic positions at Copasa MG, including General Counsel and Advisor to the CEO. Since 2022, he has served as Deputy Legal Director, responsible for corporate governance, regulation, compliance and business development matters.

Alexandre Ramos Peixoto, the new chair of Cemig’s Board of Directors, is a career engineer at the company, with postgraduate degrees in Quality Engineering and Management from PUC Minas and in Management and Strategic Planning from UFMG, as well as an MBA in areas related to the energy sector. He has experience in the national power sector, having worked at the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (Aneel), the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) and the Energy Research Company (EPE). Since 2023, he has been chair of the Board of Directors of the Electric Energy Trading Chamber (CCEE) and, at Cemig, he has already held the positions of CEO and Director of Regulation and Institutional Relations.
