On Monday, July 27, 2026, WEG (WEGE3) reported that it has been contracted by ENGIE Brasil Energia to supply two generating units for the expansion of the Jaguara Hydroelectric Power Plant, located on the Rio Grande, on the border between Minas Gerais and São Paulo, in the municipality of Rifaina (SP).

According to the statement, the project calls for a total investment of R$ 1.2 bn, with an increase of 232 MW in the plant’s installed capacity through the installation of two new generating units in already existing shafts, each with 116 MW of capacity.

The company also reported that the start-up of the new turbines is scheduled for 2030 and emphasized that its participation in the expansion of the Jaguara Power Plant highlights WEG’s ability to develop and supply complete solutions for strategic projects in the power sector.
