On Thursday, September 17, 2026, Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. – Petrobras (PETR4) reported that its wholly owned subsidiary Petrobras Netherlands B.V. (PNBV) signed Production Sharing Contracts for eight offshore exploratory blocks located in the Republic of Ivory Coast, as a follow-up to the announcement of June 4, 2025.
The contracts cover offshore blocks CI-513, CI-600, CI-601, CI-602, CI-603, CI-605, CI-701 and CI-702. Petrobras, through PNBV, will hold a 90% stake in these blocks, acting as operator, while the local state-owned PETROCI Holding will keep the remaining 10%.
According to the company, the contracts secure participation in high-potential exploratory areas in the African equatorial margin and are aligned with the strategy of replenishing oil and gas reserves through the exploration of new frontiers, in Brazil and abroad, as outlined in its Business Plan. The assessment of new opportunities seeks to diversify the exploratory portfolio and support the long-term sustainability of the business.
