At the close of Wednesday's trading session, the Ibovespa ended down 0.51%, at 185,547.66 points. Among the session's highlights, Taurus (TASA4) finished the day up 7.99%, at R$ 7.30, while Braskem (BRKM5) fell 15.36%, to R$ 4.52, taking the spots of biggest gain and biggest loss, respectively.
On the positive side, in addition to Taurus (TASA4), Magazine Luiza (MGLU3) closed up 6.28%, quoted at R$ 5.92. Lojas Quero-Quero (LJQQ3) advanced 5.38%, ending the session at R$ 1.37. Paranapanema (PMAM3), which earlier had already ranked among the day's biggest movers, finished at R$ 0.41, up 5.13%. Assai (ASAI3) rounded out the list of the five biggest gainers, rising 4.77% and closing at R$ 10.11.
Among the losers, Braskem (BRKM5) maintained the negative prominence seen throughout the afternoon and closed the session at R$ 4.52, a drop of 15.36%. OranjeBTC (OBTC3) fell 8.44%, ending the day at R$ 6.29. Gafisa (GFSA3) closed at R$ 0.24, down 7.69%, while Azevedo & Travassos (AZEV3) recorded a 7.57% loss, at R$ 7.33. OceanPact (OPCT3) completed the group of the five biggest declines, closing at R$ 10.55, down 6.14%.
Compared with earlier updates in this session, the Ibovespa slightly pared its loss, from 0.59% at the last intraday reading to 0.51% at the close. TASA4 held on to the 7.99% gain recorded in the afternoon, consolidating its position as the day's top performer, while BRKM5 extended the decline seen during part of the session, ending the day down 15.36%.
