JHSF Participações (JHSF3) reported on November 5, 2026 that the government of Uruguay approved the classification of the Fasano Las Piedras airstrip, in Punta del Este, as a private international airport. The site is now called Las Piedras International Airport and, starting in early December, will be able to receive private international flights from different destinations, such as São Paulo Catarina International Airport.
Built by JHSF in 2021, the airport has a runway of approximately 1,300 m, which is expected to be extended, as well as an apron and direct access to the Hotel Fasano Punta del Este - Las Piedras, managed by the company.
JHSF will build and operate a new executive aviation support terminal (FBO) at Las Piedras. It will operate in an integrated manner with the company's existing terminals at São Paulo Catarina Executive International Airport, Guarulhos International Airport (GAT GRU) and Miami-Opa Locka.
JHSF has been present in Uruguay for more than 15 years and recently acquired the JHSF Península complex. According to the company, the investments follow its strategy of expanding the high-income business abroad, increasing connectivity between its destinations and strengthening recurring-income activities. The company reports total assets of R$ 19.1 billion.
