On Tuesday, August 4, 2026, Transmissora Aliança de Energia Elétrica (Taesa – TAEE3, TAEE4, TAEE11) reported that, for the 2026-2027 cycle, the National Electric System Operator (ONS) issued release terms for the energization of the Encruzo Novo Substation and the 230 kV Encruzo Novo–Santa Luzia III C1 transmission line, under the Tangará Transmissora de Energia Elétrica concession. With this energization, Tangará will add approximately R$ 18.3 million to its Annual Permitted Revenue (RAP), already including PIS/COFINS, an amount equivalent to 16.2% of the project’s total RAP, with retroactive effect as of July 27, 2026.
According to Taesa, the Tangará project was already partially in operation, with enabled RAP of around R$ 86.2 million in the 2026-2027 cycle, as previously disclosed. With the new energization, the total enabled RAP rises to approximately R$ 104.5 million, already including PIS/COFINS, which corresponds to 92.0% of the total RAP projected for the project.
The project is located between the states of Maranhão and Pará and strengthens the transmission grid in the North and Northeast regions. The project includes more than 265 km of transmission lines, of which 72 km are double-circuit, in addition to the simultaneous implementation of multiple substations at different voltage levels, which, according to the company, involved significant logistical challenges.
Taesa notes that Tangará was partially delivered between 25 and 20 months ahead of the regulatory deadline set by ANEEL for March 2028. The project corresponds to lot 3 of transmission auction no. 02/2022, held in December 2022, and is 100% controlled by Taesa, with total RAP of R$ 113.4 million for the 2026-2027 cycle, already including PIS/COFINS, and ANEEL Capex of R$ 1,117 million.
