At the end of Tuesday’s session, the Ibovespa closed up 1.56% at 174,576.80 points, while shares of Oncoclínicas (ONCO3) advanced 13.16% to R$ 1.72, and Paranapanema (PMAM3) retreated 13.33% to R$ 0.13, consolidating themselves as the session’s biggest gain and biggest loss, respectively. Compared with the earlier partial readings of this session, the index slightly accelerated its gains, moving from 174,438.80 points to 174,576.80 points, while ONCO3 trimmed gains from the +15.79% seen earlier.
Among the day’s main gainers, Oncoclínicas (ONCO3) closed as the top positive highlight, quoted at R$ 1.72, up 13.16%. Next, Lojas Quero-Quero (LJQQ3) closed at R$ 1.22, up 10.91%. Shares of construction company Plano & Plano (PLPL3) ended the session at R$ 7.45, gaining 9.56%, while Magazine Luiza (MGLU3) rose 9.38% to R$ 4.55. Anima Educação (ANIM3) rounded out the list of the five biggest gainers, closing the day at R$ 2.74, up 9.16%.
On the negative side, Paranapanema (PMAM3) remained among the biggest losers throughout the entire session and closed at R$ 0.13, down 13.33%. Braskem (BRKM5) ended the session at R$ 4.10, retreating 13.32%, in a move still aligned with recent news about the company’s out-of-court reorganization filing, which involves the restructuring of unsecured debt of around US$ 10.9 billion. Azevedo & Travassos Energia (AZTE3) fell 10.53% to R$ 1.36, while Gafisa (GFSA3) closed at R$ 0.21, down 8.70%. Azevedo & Travassos (AZEV4) completed the list of biggest losers, ending the day at R$ 1.55, down 8.28%.
