In the 4:05 p.m. update this Thursday (21), the Ibovespa was up 1.89% at 171,104.01 points, maintaining the upward trend seen throughout the session. Among the stocks with the largest intraday swings, Azevedo & Travassos (AZEV4) was at R$ 1.73, up 17.69%, while Banco Mercantil (BMEB4) was down 7.38% at R$ 60.20.
Compared to the last updates of this session, AZEV4 has extended its gains: after showing an increase of 17.01% halfway through the trading day, the stock is now up 17.69%, remaining the top gainer of the day so far, at R$ 1.73. Azevedo & Travassos Energia (AZTE3), which earlier was leading the gains with +16.3% and helped support the positive move in the sector, is now trading at R$ 1.38, up 12.20%. DASA (DASA3), which had already been in the spotlight and previously showed +11.79%, remains among the top gainers, quoted at R$ 2.56, preserving the same 11.79% move.
Among other notable gainers, Portobello (PTBL3) was at R$ 1.53, advancing 10.07%, while Simpar (SIMH3) was trading at R$ 6.07, up 7.82%. Together with AZEV4, AZTE3 and DASA3, these stocks make up the group of the five largest percentage gains on B3 so far at the time of the snapshot.
On the negative side, Banco Mercantil (BMEB4) deepened its losses throughout the afternoon: after dropping 6.6% in the previous reading, the stock is now down 7.38% at R$ 60.20, ranking as the biggest decline of the session so far. Paranapanema (PMAM3), which had already been among the negative standouts in earlier updates, remains under pressure, quoted at R$ 0.13, down 7.14%.
Rounding out the list of the five biggest losses are Oncoclínicas (ONCO3), trading at R$ 1.23, down 4.65%; Braskem (BRKM5), at R$ 4.91, down 3.73%; and Azul (AZUL3), quoted at R$ 19.53, down 2.35%. Thus, while the Ibovespa holds a 1.89% gain around the 171,000-point level, the session continues to be marked by sharp moves in specific stocks, both on the upside and the downside.
