On September 4, 2026, Embraer (EMBJ3) announced the signing of an agreement with Japan’s ANA Holdings Inc. (ANA HD) for the sale of eight E190-E2 aircraft. The contract expands the original order, signed in 2025 for 15 E190-E2s, bringing the airline’s total firm orders to 23 aircraft, plus five additional options for the same model.
According to ANA HD, the additional E190-E2 order is part of efforts to develop a sustainable regional aviation network in Japan, with a focus on reducing environmental impact and operating costs. Embraer stated that the E190-E2, part of the E-Jets E2 family, is known for its efficiency, lower emissions, reduced noise levels, and enhanced passenger experience.
Embraer’s E-Jets have been operating in Japan since 2009 and benefit from local support provided by the company’s professionals. The first E2 aircraft for ANA HD is scheduled to be delivered in 2028.
