Midway through Tuesday’s session, the Ibovespa was up 0.34% at 172,482.83 points, while shares of Oncoclínicas (ONCO3) were rising 5.92% to R$ 1.61, standing as the biggest gainer of the trading day so far. On the opposite end, Azevedo & Travassos (AZEV4) was down 15.98%, quoted at R$ 1.42, posting the largest partial loss of the day. Compared with the last update of this session, the index moved from a 0.12% drop into positive territory and TEND3 extended its gains.

Among the top gainers, in addition to ONCO3, Assaí (ASAI3) was up 5.90%, trading at R$ 8.80. Homebuilder Tenda (TEND3), which had previously been up 4.38% with the Ibovespa slightly down, was now rising 4.90% to R$ 32.54. In the construction sector, Even (EVEN3) was up 4.64% to R$ 4.51, while Direcional Engenharia (DIRR3) was gaining 4.61% to R$ 11.13, rounding out the group of the five biggest intraday gainers.

On the losing side, after AZEV4, Azevedo & Travassos Energia (AZTE3) was among the biggest losers, falling 14.47% to R$ 1.30, intensifying the move seen in the previous partial update, when it was already among the day’s negative standouts. Braskem (BRKM5) was down 7.61% to R$ 4.37; in recent days, the company received court approval for an out-of-court reorganization request aimed at restructuring its unsecured debt (debt without collateral) of about US$ 10.9 billion. Paranapanema (PMAM3) was falling 6.67% to R$ 0.14, while São Martinho (SMTO3) was losing 5.60% to R$ 18.19.

At the opening of this session, Cora Saúde (CSED3) and BTG Pactual (BPAC5) were among the main movers, with more modest swings compared with the current highlights. Over the course of the day, the composition of the biggest gainers and losers changed, with ONCO3 and AZEV4 taking the extreme positions in the intraday ranking and the Ibovespa moving from flat to positive territory.
