Companhia Energética de Minas Gerais – Cemig (CMIG4) reported this Tuesday, August 18, 2026, that the credit rating agency Standard & Poor's Ratings do Brasil raised the corporate rating of the company and its wholly owned subsidiaries Cemig Distribuição S.A. and Cemig Geração e Transmissão S.A., on the national scale, from “AA+” to “AAA”, with a stable outlook.

With this decision, Cemig is now rated “AAA” by the three main rating agencies, Moody’s, Fitch and S&P. According to the release, the upgrade reflects S&P’s assessment that the company has operational strength and controlled leverage, in addition to the expectation of successful investments, supporting an operational performance considered solid and higher cash generation in the coming years, with a gradual reduction in free operating cash flow deficits.

The company also stated that it remains committed to preserving its liquidity and optimizing its capital structure by extending the average debt maturity, strategically managing liabilities and efficiently managing its cost of capital.
