On Wednesday, August 5, 2026, IRB Brasil (IRBR3) announced a change in its statutory executive board. Since August 3, 2026, Daniel Castillo has been dedicated to the company’s International Expansion Project, taking on the role of CEO of the new reinsurance companies to be established in Switzerland and Malta, whose start of operations still depends on approval from the local regulatory authorities.

With Castillo’s change of role to lead the international reinsurers, three executives have started reporting directly to the CEO, Marcos Falcão. Statutory technical and retrocessions officer Daniel Volpe is responsible for pricing, portfolio protection, and risk transfer operations, including LRS (Insurance Risk Notes) and captive operations. Life officer Ricardo Siquieri is responsible for underwriting and pricing of Life reinsurance portfolios in the domestic and international markets. Meanwhile, Underwriting officer Daniel Zaltman is responsible for Non-Life underwriting of domestic and international premiums.

According to the announcement, IRB Brasil’s management believes that Daniel Castillo’s experience heading the company’s reinsurance area will be critical for international expansion in Switzerland and Malta and for integrating these initiatives with current operations. The three executives who are taking on leadership positions in the reinsurance areas will remain focused on underwriting discipline, profitability, and the delivery of sustainable results.
