In Wednesday’s intraday session, the Ibovespa was down 0.82%, at 206,585.56 points, while Azevedo & Travassos (AZEV3) climbed 11.72% to R$ 14.97, and Movida (MOVI3) fell 7.62% to R$ 18.44, marking, so far, the biggest gain and the biggest loss of the trading session, respectively.
Among the top gainers of the day, besides AZEV3, ROMI (ROMI3) remained higher in this session, quoted at R$ 7.76, up 5.87%, extending the move seen in earlier reports, when it had risen as much as 5.73%. Banco Pine (PINE4) was trading at R$ 17.52, up 5.53%, while Taurus (TASA4) posted a 3.61% increase to R$ 10.34. Banco Mercantil (BMEB4) was also among the gainers, at R$ 81.97, up 2.48%.
On the losing side, after standing out negatively earlier, Movida (MOVI3) trimmed its loss versus the 9.42% drop seen in the previous update, but was still down 7.62% in the period. Hapvida (HAPV3) was quoted at R$ 8.85, down 7.33%, while CVC (CVCB3) stood at R$ 1.56, down 6.59%. Cogna (COGN3) fell 5.85% to R$ 3.06.
WEG (WEGE3), which had already appeared among the main decliners in a recent report from this session, remained under pressure, trading at R$ 45.95, down 5.82%. Thus, the trading session continued to be marked by the Ibovespa in negative territory and by diverging moves between small-cap stocks and shares of more established companies, with emphasis on the gap between the rally in AZEV3 and the drop in MOVI3 in the middle of the afternoon.
