Grupo Casas Bahia (BHIA3) released on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, clarifications regarding news about Operation Ícaro by the São Paulo State Prosecutor’s Office (MPSP), following an inquiry from B3. The company states that it learned of the investigations and a precautionary measure solely through news reports, starting in March 2026, and that to date it has not received any subpoena, request, or official communication from the competent public authorities.
According to the statement, upon becoming aware of the reports, the company formed, on March 26, 2026, an Independent Investigation Committee, formally established on April 17, 2026, which is still ongoing. As of today, according to Grupo Casas Bahia, there are no conclusions or definitive findings from the committee or its external advisors indicating involvement by the company or its officers in the conduct mentioned in the news report or in related facts.
The company states that it repudiates any payment of undue advantages to public authorities, says it maintains compliance policies and periodic training for employees, and informs that it will disclose to the market any relevant information when the internal investigation is concluded, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
