Midway through Wednesday’s session (2), the Ibovespa was up 2.51% at 184,238.94 points, extending the gains seen at the open. Among individual highlights, Magazine Luiza (MGLU3) was trading up 12.99% at R$ 5.22, while Casas Bahia (BHIA3) was down 14.44% at R$ 0.77.
Since the open, Magazine Luiza, which had already posted a 6.28% gain in the first trades, accelerated the move and went on to lead the day’s gainers, with MGLU3 at R$ 5.22 (+12.99%). Also among the top performers were Arezzo (AZZA3), trading at R$ 16.82, up 11.61%, and Grupo Vamos (VAMO3), which advanced 9.06% to R$ 3.25.
Rounding out the group of the five biggest gainers, Braskem (BRKM5) was trading at R$ 4.58, up 8.02%, and Portobello (PTBL3) was at R$ 1.82, a 7.69% gain. At the open of this session, the focus among stocks had been on Recrusul (RCSL4), which at one point climbed 7.32%, but at the time of the latest data, intraday leadership was concentrated in MGLU3 and AZZA3.
On the losing side, Casas Bahia deepened its losses compared with the start of the session, when BHIA3 was down 8.89%. At 11:35 a.m., the stock was down 14.44% at R$ 0.77, ranking as the day’s biggest decliner. Next, Oncoclínicas (ONCO3) was down 11.11%, trading at R$ 0.96.
Among the other most relevant losers, Rumo Logística (RAIL3) was at R$ 14.56, down 4.84%, while Azevedo & Travassos (AZEV4) fell 4.24% to R$ 1.58. Cosan (CSAN3) completed the list of the five biggest drops, quoted at R$ 3.82, down 3.78% intraday.
