On Monday, July 13, 2026, Copasa (CSMG3) reported that in the second quarter of 2026 (2Q26), consolidated metered volumes totaled 173.0 million m³ of water and 123.5 million m³ of sewage, up 1.0% and 3.6%, respectively, compared with 2Q25. According to the company, the result was supported by the expansion of its customer base.
In the 12-month period ended in 2Q26, the water customer base grew 1.3%, reaching 5,812 thousand units on a consolidated basis, while the sewage customer base increased 3.0%, totaling 4,328 thousand units. The average consumption period remained virtually stable, rising from 92.00 days in 2Q25 to 92.15 days in 2Q26, a variation of 0.2%.
In consolidated water data, connections totaled 4,821 thousand units in 2Q26, an increase of 1.4% versus 4,754 thousand in 2Q25, and metered volume reached 173,027 thousand m³, growth of 1.0% over 171,336 thousand m³ in the same quarter of the previous year. For sewage, connections reached 3,357 thousand units, up 2.2% compared with 3,286 thousand a year earlier, while metered volume rose from 119,228 thousand m³ to 123,506 thousand m³, also an increase of 3.6%.
Copasa also reported that, in addition to metered volumes and the tariffs authorized by the regulator, revenue is affected by other factors, especially changes in estimates of consumption to be billed.
