This Friday, October 23, 2026, Unifique Telecomunicações (FIQE3) reported that, together with Brisanet Serviços de Telecomunicações and Iez! Telecom, it has signed a Commercial Agreement with AST SpaceMobile to offer mobile cellular broadband service via satellite (Direct-to-Device – D2D) throughout Brazilian territory.
According to the announcement, the regional mobile operators will make available the 700 MHz band radio frequencies they hold and will be responsible for investing in the infrastructure needed to connect their mobile networks to AST SpaceMobile’s satellite constellation via terrestrial gateways.
The partnership aims to enable voice calls, broadband data, and video streaming directly on standard smartphones, without the need for specialized equipment, software updates, or apps. By integrating satellite connectivity with the existing mobile network, Unifique seeks to expand coverage to places where people live, work, and travel, allowing customers to stay connected outside the reach of terrestrial networks.
According to a statement by CEO Fabiano Busnardo mentioned in the material fact, the satellite is identified as the next step after fiber and 5G, and the partnership with AST SpaceMobile is presented as a way to complement the company’s network and bring connectivity to broader areas through additional investment.
The final details of the contract are still under negotiation, and the transaction depends on conditions such as obtaining authorizations and licenses from the regulatory agency. Unifique stated that it will keep the market informed about the progress of the transaction and any developments.
