Grupo Mateus (GMAT3) reported that in 2026 it reached 315 stores operating in Brazil, after opening 13 new locations in the year. The information was released in a statement published this Friday, August 28, 2026.
Among the openings in 2026, the company highlighted the inauguration of a new cash-and-carry store in the municipality of Teresina, in the state of Piauí, on August 28. The unit has a sales area of 3,881 m² and generates 236 jobs, being Grupo Mateus’s third cash-and-carry operation in the city.
Of the total 315 stores in operation, 80 are under the Atacarejo – Mix Mateus banner, 90 are Retail, 78 are Eletro, 1 is Foodservice - Atacarejo, 65 are under the Atacarejo - Novo Atacarejo banner, and 1 is a Pharmacy. The operations are spread across the states of Maranhão, Pará, Piauí, Ceará, Bahia, Sergipe, Pernambuco, Alagoas, and Paraíba.
Grupo Mateus also reported having 315 convenience stores, combining the Armazzém, Armazzém Pet, and Mais Fraldas banners, present in the states of Maranhão, Pará, Piauí, Ceará, Pernambuco, and Paraíba.
