On Friday, August 21, 2026, Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. – Petrobras (PETR4) announced that it had expressed interest in exploratory blocks located in offshore areas of the Keta Basin in Ghana, on the west coast of Africa, as part of its 2026 Business Plan.
Ghana’s Ministry of Energy and Green Transition approved the application to negotiate exploration contracts for four blocks, allowing Petrobras to enter the direct negotiation phase for the terms of these contracts.
According to the company, the initiative is aligned with its strategy to rebuild oil and gas reserves through the exploration of new frontiers, in Brazil and abroad. The assessment of these opportunities aims to diversify Petrobras’ exploration portfolio and contribute to value creation and the long-term sustainability of its businesses.
