Midway through Thursday’s session, the Ibovespa was down 0.23% at 177,140.42 points, while Gafisa (GFSA3) was up 7.89% at R$ 0.41 and Qualicorp (QUAL3) was down 5.88% at R$ 1.44. Earlier, GFSA3 had risen as much as 10.53% and QUAL3 had fallen 8.50%, with the cash index down 0.15% around 11 a.m.

Among the top gainers in the period, in addition to Gafisa, Recrusul (RCSL4) was up 5.56% at R$ 0.57. Simpar (SIMH3) advanced 4.92% to R$ 7.67, while Light (LIGT3) gained 4.29%, trading at R$ 3.16. Terra Santa Propriedades Agrícolas (LAND3) rounded out the list of top performers, up 4.01% at R$ 8.05.

On the downside, Qualicorp remained the session’s biggest loser so far, with QUAL3 at R$ 1.44, a drop of 5.88%. Vittia (VITT3) fell 4.36% to R$ 3.29, while HBR Realty (HBRE3) retreated 4.11%, quoted at R$ 2.10. Hapvida (HAPV3) lost 3.51% to R$ 10.99, and Unicasa Móveis (UCAS3) was down 3.39%, trading at R$ 1.14.

Compared with the previous update of this session, Gafisa gave back part of its gains, from 10.53% to 7.89%, but remained the session’s top performer. Qualicorp, which had previously been down 8.50%, was now limiting its loss to 5.88%. The Ibovespa, in turn, extended its negative move, deepening from a 0.15% drop to a 0.23% decline over the same interval.
